Nectar D'r derives its name from the Gaelic word r, which means gold, and wonderfully describes this rich expression of Glenmorangie. Our sumptuous whisky develops its rich, spicy, and dessert-like flavours in hand-selected Sauternes barrels.
The rare Sauternes barriques obtained from the most renowned French vineyards and selected for extended maturation give Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or ('golden nectar') its lemony, honey silkiness and luscious finish. Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or, non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46 percent ABV, is honey-like and velvety in texture, with a luxurious aftertaste; an overly well-made whiskey, extra aged in Sauternes barriques.
Here we have Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or, finished in lovely syrupy Sauternes wine casks! The single malt is initially aged in American oak bourbon casks before being transferred to wine casks from Sauternes, which previously held the sweet French wine. If you fancy this one in a Highball, pairing it with grapefruit soda and a wedge of lime works a treat.
